BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act providing an annual salary for the judge of the Probate Court of
Rockdale County in lieu of the fee system of compensation, approved March 4,
1969 (Ga. L. 1969, p. 2173), as amended, particularly by an Act approved April
16, 1999 (Ga. L. 1999, p. 4770), so as to change the provisions relating to the
compensation of such judge; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting
laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act providing an annual salary for the judge of the Probate Court of Rockdale
County in lieu of the fee system of compensation, approved March 4, 1969 (Ga. L.
1969, p. 2173), as amended, particularly by an Act approved April 16, 1999 (Ga.
L. 1999, p. 4770), is amended by revising Section 2 to read as
follows:
"SECTION
2.
The
judge of the Probate Court of Rockdale County shall receive an annual salary
equal to 67 percent of the base salary of a superior court judge, as set forth
in Code Section 45-7-4 of the O.C.G.A., as now or hereafter amended, and 67
percent of any county supplement paid to a superior court judge by Rockdale
County, as now or hereafter amended. The Judge of the Probate Court of Rockdale
County shall also be authorized to participate in the Group Retirement Program,
the Group Hospitalization Benefit Program and any other employee benefit program
as may be provided for by Rockdale County on the same basis as other officers
and employees of Rockdale County if he or she meets the normal eligibility
requirements of the programs."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective on July 1, 2009.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
