BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 48-7-40 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to tax credits for certain business enterprises, so as to revise the definition
of business enterprise to include businesses engaged in services for the elderly
and persons with disabilities; to provide for related matters; to repeal
conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 48-7-40 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to tax
credits for certain business enterprises, is amended by revising paragraph (2)
of subsection (a) as follows:
"(2)
'Business enterprise' means any business or the headquarters of any such
business which is engaged in manufacturing, warehousing and distribution,
processing, telecommunications, broadcasting, tourism,
and
research and development
industries,
and services for the elderly and persons with
disabilities. Such term shall not include
retail businesses."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
