RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Sam Hopkins; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most
important objective of the General Assembly; and
WHEREAS,
Sam Hopkins has shown by the example of his academic accomplishments that the
pursuit and attainment of scholastic success are within the reach of the
students in this state; and
WHEREAS,
this remarkable scholar has earned distinction through his outstanding
achievements as a student at Model High School, where he is a gifted student and
was selected as Model High School's 2009 STAR Student; and
WHEREAS,
Sam maintains an impressive 3.9 grade point average and has earned a Georgia
Certificate of Merit; and
WHEREAS,
Sam has personified the selfless dedication, mental agility, verbal adroitness,
and personal maturity necessary for superlative academic performance, and he
plans to attend Auburn University on an Academic Presidential Scholar
Scholarship; and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia looks with great anticipation toward the future of this
bright and promising young citizen.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body heartily commend Sam Hopkins for his spectacular scholastic endeavors,
congratulate him on his selection as Model High School's 2009 STAR Student, and
express to him their sincerest best wishes for continued academic success in the
future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Sam Hopkins.
