A RESOLUTION

Commending Dr. Randy Richardson, advisor to the Berry College Forensics Team, and congratulating the Berry College Forensics Team on its state competition championship; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Berry College has a rich tradition of speech and debate, and for more than a decade, the Berry College Forensics Team has benefitted from the expert training and coaching the team advisor, Dr. Randy Richardson, has provided; and

WHEREAS, under his skilled guidance, the Berry College Forensics Team has had an incredible winning record, which includes winning the state forensics competition for the last 15 years and one national championship within their division and a 4th place ranking overall in the national competition; and

WHEREAS, the school's forensics team members have enjoyed an outstanding year of competition, the opportunity to compete on state and national levels, and a highly intellectually enriching experience that they will always remember; and

WHEREAS, during his career at Berry College, forensics team advisor Dr. Randy Richardson has touched the lives of many with his caring and enthusiastic spirit, and he has been an inspirational mentor to many young students, teaching them the true meaning of teamwork; and

WHEREAS, many young Georgians have benefitted from his dedicated service as a mentor, educator, and forensics advisor, and this state owes this honorable gentleman a debt of gratitude for his service as a principled role model for our students.

WHEREAS, thanks to the hard work and determination of the team's students and coaches, the Berry College Forensics Team has brought great honor to its school and community.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body join in commending Dr. Randy Richardson on his many outstanding achievements, congratulate the Berry College Forensics Team on its state championship, and extend their best wishes for continued success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit appropriate copies of this resolution to advisor Dr. Randy Richardson and Berry College.
