RESOLUTION
Recognizing
La Grotta Ristorante Italiano and owners Sergio Favalli and Antonio Abizanda;
and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
since its opening on September 18, 1978, La Grotta Ristorante Italiano, under
the direction of front-of-the-house boss Sergio Favalli and executive chef
Antonio Abizanda, has garnered a well-deserved reputation for authentic and
excellent dining among the affluent over-40 population; and
WHEREAS,
the restaurant offers fine dining in an intimate ambiance overlooking a
beautiful garden located in the heart of Buckhead; and
WHEREAS,
La Grotta has been voted the Best Italian Restaurant by
Atlanta
Magazine and also received the AAA Four
Diamond Award and is a long-time winner of the Di Rona Award; and
WHEREAS,
after apprenticing across most of Europe in the 1970's, the partners met in
Bermuda before coming to the United States to open Bugati in the then-new Omni
Hotel, and then as planned, they opened their own restaurant; and
WHEREAS,
March 24 will be an especially festive evening at La Grotta, because that date
is the birthday of Antonio Abizanda; and
WHEREAS,
it is only fitting that the members of this body recognize and commend this
treasure on Peachtree, the best Italian restaurant in the South.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize La Grotta Ristorante Italiano and its owners, Sergio Favalli
and Antonio Abizanda.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Sergio
Favalli and Antonio Abizanda.
