RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mrs. Martha O. Zeigler; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Martha O. Zeigler has long been recognized by the citizens of this state
for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal
commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as
evidenced dramatically by her service with the Effingham County Chapter of
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Zeigler has served as Events Director with Thrivent for the past four years
and her leadership, dedication, and guidance have been recognized by Rotary Club
International with the distinction of Effingham County's Volunteer of the Year;
and
WHEREAS,
Thrivant Financial is a faith based organization that provides fraternal
programs for members, churches, and local communities; and
WHEREAS,
as Events Director, Mrs. Zeigler was responsible for the purchase of building
materials and coordinating the construction of a storage building for the
Treutlen House and worked with the Georgia Salzburger Society to raise funds for
a statue for Jerusalem Lutheran Church; and
WHEREAS,
a kindhearted and magnanimous woman, Mrs. Zeigler is also a board member of the
Treutlen House, a member of the ELCA women's group, instrumental in maintaining
the Georgia Salzburger Society museum, and a volunteer at the Effingham County
Hospital; and
WHEREAS,
the benevolent and honorable deeds of this charitable woman serve as a shining
example of volunteerism, and the State of Georgia is honored and blessed to have
Mrs. Zeigler as a citizen.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Mrs. Martha O. Zeigler on her volunteer efforts and
contributions and congratulate her on the honorable distinction of being named
Effingham County's Volunteer of the Year by Rotary Club
International.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Martha
O. Zeigler.
