A RESOLUTION


Commending Mr. Royce James on the occasion of his retirement; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mr. Royce James has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state as evidenced dramatically by his over 28 years of superlative service with the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service where he has served with honor and distinction; and

WHEREAS, Mr. James began his distinguished career with the Cooperative Extension Service on June 1, 1980, with Bibb County, an office to which he has dedicated his entire career; and

WHEREAS, a true conservationist, Mr. James is devoted to the principles of agriculture and instilling in others appreciation for natural resources and protection of the environment; and

WHEREAS, Mr. James has been an active leader in professional organizations, serving as President of the Georgia Association of Extension 4-H Agents and as Southern Region Director for the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Mr. Royce James for his efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia, extend to him their most sincere gratitude for his devotion to protecting the agricultural wonders of this state, and congratulate him on the occasion of his well-deserved retirement.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Royce James.
