RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Dr. E.R. "Skip" McDannald; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Dr. E.R. "Skip" McDannald has long been recognized by the citizens of this state
for his leadership in the field of medicine, his compassionate treatment of his
patients, and his deep concern for the well-being of others; and
WHEREAS,
Dr. McDannald earned a bachelor's degree from Virginia Military Institute and a
medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, completed a surgical
internship and surgical residency at the Medical College of Virginia, and earned
a master's degree in health administration from the University of Colorado;
and
WHEREAS,
this talented physician has held a variety of careers, including as a vascular
surgeon, in the business sector for a medical product company, as medical
director of West Virginia University, and as CEO of Houston Healthcare;
and
WHEREAS,
in addition to his current role running a predictive health care software
program, Dr. McDannald also volunteers once a week to teach science at
Hawkinsville High School; and
WHEREAS,
Dr. McDannald's extensive background helps him enhance the classroom experience
for Hawkinsville anatomy and physiology students and gives them a chance to take
a course that would otherwise not be available to them due to the school
system's budget constraints; and
WHEREAS,
thanks to Dr. McDannald's generosity with his time and knowledge, students at
Hawkinsville have the opportunity to consider the medical field as a profession
upon graduation; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the extraordinary accomplishments of
this distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize Dr. E.R. "Skip" McDannald for his impressive career in the
medical field, commend him for his commitment to giving back to his community,
and acknowledge the numerous lives he has uplifted with his
generosity.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Dr. E.R.
"Skip" McDannald.
