RESOLUTION
Honoring
Dr. Bruce Stuart Allen for his accomplishments and on the occasion of his
appointment as the first Honorary Consul of the Principality of Liechtenstein;
and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Dr. Bruce S. Allen grew up in the southern United States and his father worked
in the aerospace industry in Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
he earned a Phi Beta Kappa, Magna cum Laude Bachelor of Science degree in
chemistry from the University of Georgia and an Alpha Omega Alpha honors Doctor
of Medicine degree (M.D.) from the Medical College of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Allen has traveled extensively and holds a Commercial Pilot aviation license
and a Master Diver certification; he has spoken and written about worldwide
adventure travel and was part of several mountain climbing expeditions,
including an expedition to Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2000; and
WHEREAS,
on May 15, 2007, in the Liechtenstein capital city of Vaduz, both His Serene
Highness Alois von und zu Liechtenstein, the Hereditary Prince of the
Principality of Liechtenstein on behalf of His Serene Highness Hans-Adam II, the
Ruling Prince of Liechtenstein, and his Excellency Otmar Hasler, Prime Minister
of the Principality of Liechtenstein, signed an order naming State of Georgia
resident, Dr. Bruce Stuart Allen as the Honorary Consul of the Principality of
Liechtenstein in history; and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Allen's Bibb County home is officially registered with the United States
State Department as both the first official Consulate and Consular Residence for
Liechtenstein in the world; and
WHEREAS,
his wife, Dr. Jennifer Allen, is also a dermatologist and they have one son,
Blake, who is currently a student at Harvard University;
and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that Dr. Allen be recognized for his lifetime of outstanding accomplishments.

NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body honor and commend Dr. Bruce Stuart Allen for his outstanding
accomplishments and his appointment as the Honorary Consul of the Principality
of Liechtenstein.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Dr. Bruce
Stuart Allen.
