A RESOLUTION


Honoring Miss Maggie Siddons on the occasion of her high school graduation; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, in the spring of 2009, Miss Maggie Siddons will graduate with honors from Harrison High School in Kennesaw, Georgia; and

WHEREAS, Miss Siddons will be attending college at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, on a golf and academic scholarship; and

WHEREAS, Lipscomb University is an NCAA Division I school, and earning an athletic scholarship to this institution is a prestigious accomplishment; and

WHEREAS, throughout this outstanding young lady's high school career she has received many athletic accolades for her golf performances, including: 2006, 2007, and 2008 First Team All Cobb County from the Marietta Daily Journal, 2006 Harrison High School Girls Golf Team Coaches Award, 2007 and 2008 Harrison High School Girls Golf Most Valuable Player Award, 2007 First Team All State Girls Golf Team for Class AAAAA, and 2008 Atlanta Journal-Constitution Northwest Section Girls Golfer of the Year; and

WHEREAS, Miss Siddons has demonstrated her strong golf skills and talent with many superb competition finishes such as placing sixth in the Georgia Class AAAAA State Tournament in 2007 and tenth in 2006 and 2008; her leadership and ability helped the Harrison High Lady Hoyas earn region championships and finish among the top five schools in the Georgia Class AAAAA State Tournament in 2006, 2007, and 2008; and

WHEREAS, in addition to these many athletic accomplishments, Miss Siddons has attained great academic status by being named to the Harrison High School Honor Roll each school year from 2005 to 2008 and was given the Academic Award in 2008 for the Girls Golf Team; and
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia looks with great anticipation toward the future of this bright and promising young citizen.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body join in honoring Miss Maggie Siddons at this exciting time in her life and extend their sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Miss Maggie Siddons.
