RESOLUTION
Congratulating
Chamblee Middle School on winning the 2011 PAGE Academic Bowl for Middle Grades
State Finals; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
on February 5, 2011, Chamblee Middle School was triumphant at the Professional
Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) Academic Bowl for Middle Grades State
Finals, capturing top honors after four single-elimination rounds;
and
WHEREAS,
the competition tested middle school students from across this state on a
variety of subjects, including Georgia history, mathematics, science,
literature, and the performing arts; and
WHEREAS,
ably led by Coach John Donegan, team members Swapnil Agrawal, Wesley Cheung,
Elisabeth Cortez, Diya Datta, Cameron Haddad, Alana Homa, Jacob Jordan, Sunjeev
Kale, Kishore Nathan, and Caleb Wikle emerged victorious thanks to their
dedication and immense knowledge; and
WHEREAS,
over 1,200 students compete at the local, regional, and state levels of the PAGE
Academic Bowl for Middle Grades and the Chamblee Middle School team should be
proud of their dedication and hard work in earning the title of state champions;
and
WHEREAS,
in capturing this prestigious state title, these smart and gifted students have
brought great honor to their school and community.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in congratulating Chamblee Middle School on winning the PAGE
Academic Bowl for Middle Grades State Finals.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit appropriate copies of this resolution to Chamblee
Middle School and the above named coach and members of the school's academic
bowl team.
