RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Don and Laure Peterson on the occasion of their 60th wedding
anniversary; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Don and Laure Peterson were united in love and marriage on December 26, 1948,
celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary this past year; and
WHEREAS,
this loving couple has been blessed with five loving and thoughtful children;
and
WHEREAS,
these Walker County residents have devoted their lives to assisting and
uplifting the lives of others, whether through Mr. Peterson's years of public
service in the education field, Mrs. Peterson's devotion to her family as a
homemaker, or the couple's current ministry projects; and
WHEREAS,
the Peterson's missionary work has focused on foreign missions, with years of
service to the people of Jamaica and Haiti; and
WHEREAS,
the couple's current passion is building The Family Center, a Christian
campground facility which will provide assistance to families with financial or
substance abuse struggles; and
WHEREAS,
it is fitting that the Petersons be congratulated on their many years of
happiness and their strong commitment to each other for over 60
years.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in congratulating Don and Laure Peterson on their 60th wedding
anniversary and extend their sincere best wishes for many more happy years
together.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Don and Laure
Peterson.
