A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Quentin Pasko; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most important objective of the General Assembly; and

WHEREAS, Quentin Pasko has shown by the example of his academic accomplishments that the pursuit and attainment of scholastic success are within the reach of the students in this state; and

WHEREAS, this remarkable scholar has earned distinction through his selection as Jackson County Comprehensive High School's 2009 STAR Student; and

WHEREAS, actively involved in leadership roles at his school, Quentin is a member of the Health Occupation Students of America, Spanish Honor Society, and National Honor Society; and

WHEREAS, Quentin is also a stellar student-athlete, competing on his school's golf and cross-country teams, and has been recognized with the school's Scholar Athlete Award; and

WHEREAS, a driven young man committed to making a difference, Quentin is a member of the Teen Life Group and recently participated in a 24 hour fast in order to raise awareness of the epidemic of world-wide childhood hunger; and

WHEREAS, Quentin plans to continue his education at the University of Georgia, hoping to study pharmaceuticals; and

WHEREAS, he has personified the selfless dedication, mental agility, verbal adroitness, and personal maturity necessary for superlative academic performance; and

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia looks with great anticipation toward the future of this bright and promising young citizen.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body heartily commend Quentin Pasko for his spectacular scholastic endeavors, recognize him for being named Jackson County Comprehensive High School's STAR Student for 2009, and express to him their sincerest best wishes for continued academic success in the future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Quentin Pasko.
