RESOLUTION
Commending
Ms. Jessica Barfield and inviting her to be recognized by the House of
Representatives; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Ms. Jessica Barfield has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for
the vital role that she has played in the teaching profession and her deep
personal commitment to the education of the students of Georgia;
and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Barfield has been selected as the state's recipient of the Technical College
System of Georgia 2010 Rick Perkins Award for Excellence in Technical
Instruction for Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
an instructor for the early childhood care and education program at Southwest
Georgia Technical College, Ms. Barfield has exemplified excellence in
instructional knowledge and practices; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of such, Ms. Barfield was selected from an elite group of Georgia
technical college instructors who have each demonstrated innovative teaching
practices and exceptional leadership skills at their respective technical
colleges; and
WHEREAS,
through dedication and professionalism, Ms. Barfield has brought honor to
herself, her family, her college, and the Technical College System of Georgia,
which she represents as Georgia's outstanding postsecondary technical education
instructor of the year; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of her contributions to the students in this state, it is
abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the extraordinary
commitment and accomplishments of this outstanding individual.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body heartily and gratefully commend Ms. Jessica Barfield for her
sacrifice, foresight, accomplishment, and contributions on behalf of technical
education in Georgia; congratulate her upon her receipt of the Technical College
System of Georgia 2010 Rick Perkins Award for Excellence in Technical
Instruction for Georgia; and invite her to be recognized by the House of
Representatives at a date and time to be determined by the Speaker of the House
of Representatives.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Jessica
Barfield.
