A RESOLUTION


Honoring the life and memory of Mrs. Holly Cantrell Mullins; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished and kind citizens with the passing of Mrs. Holly Cantrell Mullins on February 5, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Mullins had a contagious, one of a kind smile that could light up a room; and

WHEREAS, she was a poultry farmer, drove a school bus for Pickens County children, and coached youth T-ball teams in her spare time; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Mullins was united in love and marriage to her childhood sweetheart, Dustan Mullins, and she was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Carmyn and Caroline; and

WHEREAS, in addition to her husband and daughters, Mrs. Mullins leaves behind many who will cherish her memory, including her parents, Bobby and Joyce Cantrell; her mother, Joyce Fountain Cantrell previously served as the Superior Court Clerk of Pickens County and retired to assist in providing care to her beloved daughter and granddaughters; her grandmother, Emma Fountain; her grandmothers-in-law, Margie Mullins and Jean Roland; her step-grandmother, Gaye Cantrell; her father-in-law and his wife, Mike and Kathy Mullins; her mother-in-law and her husband, Cathy and Tom Vandiver; and numerous other relatives and close friends; and

WHEREAS, she gave inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding she demonstrated to her family and friends were admired by others; and

WHEREAS, she was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness and, by the example she made of her life, she made this world a better place in which to live; and

WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous woman, Mrs. Mullins will long be remembered for her love of family and friendship, and this loyal daughter, wife, mother, and friend will be missed by all who had the great fortune of knowing her.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Mrs. Holly Cantrell Mullins and express their deepest and most sincere regret at her passing.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Mrs. Holly Cantrell Mullins.
