A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Mrs. Dana Clark; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Dana Clark has been recognized for her outstanding public service and leadership, earning a 2008 Community Quarterback Award from the NFL's Atlanta Falcons; and

WHEREAS, the Community Quarterback Award honors individuals who are committed to improving their community through volunteerism, with winners selected by a panel of civic and community leaders; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Clark is a founding board member of the nonprofit organization A Friend's House, Inc., and has dedicated 14 years to helping the organization provide a safe home for more than 1,500 children in crisis; and

WHEREAS, a kindhearted and magnanimous woman, Mrs. Clark gives selflessly of her time to make life easier for those in need and is responsible for the organization's impressive fundraising efforts; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Clark plays an important leadership and organizational role in the charity's two major fund raising events, the Taste of Henry event and the Christmas benefit dinner, which includes a live auction, holiday decorations, and gifts from local sponsors; and

WHEREAS, this woman of great kindness and generosity lives in Stockbridge with her husband, Bill, and when she is not helping A Friend's House, Mrs. Clark serves as chairperson for the Henry County Department of Family and Children Services; and

WHEREAS, the benevolent and honorable deeds of this charitable woman serve as a shining example of volunteerism, and the State of Georgia is honored and blessed to have Mrs. Clark as a citizen.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Mrs. Dana Clark on her volunteer efforts and contributions and congratulate her on the honorable distinction of being named a 2008 Community Quarterback by the Atlanta Falcons.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Dana Clark.
