RESOLUTION
Commending
Special Agent in Charge Kim B. Baker; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Vernon Keenan recently announced the
promotion of Assistant Special Agent in Charge Kim B. Baker to the rank of
Special Agent in Charge of the GBI Sylvester Field Office; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Baker began serving in her new role on January 16, 2011, and is the first
African American woman to hold this position in the history of the GBI;
and
WHEREAS,
she began her career with the GBI in 1993 as an undercover drug agent, and six
months later, she was promoted to the position of Special Agent and assigned to
the Statesboro Field Office where she worked for seven years before transferring
to the Healthcare Fraud Control Unit in Tucker, Georgia; in 2002, she was
promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge and assigned to the GBI Sylvester
Field Office, and in 2007, she was transferred to the Pataula Drug Task Force in
Colquitt; and
WHEREAS,
SAC Baker is a native of Hawkinsville, the daughter of Ben and Patricia Cain;
she attended Hawkinsville High School, Middle Georgia College, the University of
West Georgia, and Columbus State University; and she now resides in Lee County,
where she is a member of Second Mount Zion Baptist Church.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Special Agent in Charge Kim B. Baker for her stellar career
and her recent promotion.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Special Agent
in Charge Kim B. Baker.
