RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending those who assist with the Back to School Jam in South Fulton
County; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
for the past 18 years, the Back to School Jam has been held in South Fulton
County; and
WHEREAS,
the Back to School Jam provides children with school supplies, food, and a safe
place to get information; and
WHEREAS,
the Back to School Jam is held annually on the first Friday of August, and this
year's event will be held on August 6, 2010; and
WHEREAS,
this amazing event is made possible due to the generous efforts of several
people and organizations, including Mr. Murphy Green, Ms. Bretha Swam, Minister
Pat Martin, Dr. Ophelia Guice, Bishop Lackey, Mother Frankie Arnold, Reverend
Robert Stanley, Mr. Carl Hindsman, Mrs. M. Beasley, the Honorable Betty Hannah,
Mrs. V. Benjamin of Louisiana, Shirl Smith, and the Fairburn Police Department;
and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the extraordinary contributions of
these distinguished individuals be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the dedicated efforts of the participants in the Back to
School Jam.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit appropriate copies of this resolution to each of the
above mentioned individuals.
