A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Minnie Jenkins-Miller, outstanding Georgia citizen and educator, on the occasion of her retirement; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Minnie Jenkins-Miller is a long-time resident of Georgia where she is widely recognized as the personification of excellence in education for her teaching abilities; and

WHEREAS, she was an outstanding student attending Georgia State University where she obtained her teacher certification, master's degree in education, and specialist in education degree, and she also attended Savannah State University where she obtained a bachelor of science degree in French; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Jenkins-Miller began her professional career as a French and language arts teacher in 1968 and then served as assistant principal of Paul D. West Middle School and assistant principal of Camp Creek Middle School; and

WHEREAS, in 1989, Minnie Jenkins-Millerwas promoted to principal of Camp Creek Middle School where she has diligently served to the present; and

WHEREAS, this highly respected teacher and educational administrator has served with honor and distinction as a professional educator, and as evidence of her tremendous respect she has received numerous honors, recognitions, and awards; and

WHEREAS, as further evidence of her commitment to education and her community, she is an active member of many professional and civic organizations; and

WHEREAS, her significant organizational and leadership talents, her remarkable patience and diplomacy, her keen sense of vision, and her sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and associates; and

WHEREAS, Minnie Jenkins-Miller diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as a professional and through her significant leadership role as a public educator, and she will be sorely missed upon her retirement.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Minnie Jenkins-Miller for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to her community and the State of Georgia; congratulate her on her retirement; and extend to her their most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Minnie Jenkins-Miller.
