A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending the Atlanta Hawks' Al Horford; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Al Horford has an established reputation for athletic achievement and
demonstrates his exemplary abilities each game as a forward-center for the NBA's
Atlanta Hawks; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Horford was named to the Eastern Conference All-Star team for the February
14, 2010, All-Star game at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas; and
WHEREAS,
the Atlanta Hawks selected Mr. Horford third overall during the 2007 NBA draft,
recognizing his talent, skill, and leadership on the court; and
WHEREAS,
his All-Star selection, along with his teammate Joe Johnson, marks the first
time since 1998 that two Hawks have been named to the All-Star team;
and
WHEREAS,
at 23 years old, Mr. Horford already displays great poise under pressure, mature
decision-making abilities, and quick and agile movements that drive his
opponents and teammates to compete at their best level; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Horford's direction both on and off the court serves as an inspiration to
countless young athletes and has earned him the respect and admiration of his
family, friends, and fans; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of his outstanding athletic achievements, it is abundantly
fitting and proper for this body to honor the extraordinary commitment and
accomplishments of Mr. Horford.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize the Atlanta Hawks' Al Horford for his amazing athletic
achievements in the NBA and commend him on his first All-Star
berth.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Al
Horford.
