RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mrs. Brenda Wheeler Walraven on her outstanding public service;
and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Brenda Wheeler Walraven has long been recognized by the citizens of this
state for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal
commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
a graduate of Oconee County High School, Mrs. Walraven has diligently and
conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time, talents, and energy
toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced dramatically by
her superlative service as an assistant to Representative Bob Smith;
and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Walraven has provided superb service to constituents of Oconee, Morgan,
Clarke, Oglethorpe, Newton, and Madison counties for the last ten years as an
assistant to Representative Smith; and
WHEREAS,
her significant organizational and leadership talents, her remarkable patience
and diplomacy, her keen sense of vision, and her sensitivity to the needs of the
citizens of this state have earned her the respect and admiration of her
colleagues and associates; and
WHEREAS,
affectionately known as "Beanie," Mrs. Walraven has been united in love and
marriage to Kevin Walraven since August 20, 1983, and she has been blessed with
two remarkable sons, Joseph and Jordan; and
WHEREAS,
a woman of deep and abiding faith, Mrs. Walraven is an active member of Rays
United Methodist Church in the Eastville community of Oconee County where she is
a member of the Rays Praise Team, Rays Compassion Committee, Rays Chicks in
Action, the Worship Committee, the Relay for Life Team, and serves as treasurer
of the building fund and secretary of the board; and
WHEREAS,
she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS,
an avid cook and baker, Mrs. Walraven makes the best biscuits, coleslaw, pound
cakes, and chocolate cakes in Oconee County; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Walraven has served with honor and distinction for Representative Bob Smith
and her vision and unyielding commitment have set the standard for public
service; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Mrs. Brenda Wheeler Walraven for her efficient, effective,
unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia, and extend to
her their most sincere best wishes for continued health and
happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Brenda
Wheeler Walraven.
