A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Mrs. Ardena Beasley on the occasion of her 80th birthday; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, on September 1, 2010, Mrs. Ardena Beasley will have the rare distinction of celebrating her 80th birthday; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Beasley is the beloved daughter of Corine Box and Decan Porter Box and granddaughter of Savannah Baily; and

WHEREAS, she spent many joyous years united in love and marriage to the late Robert Lee Beasley, Sr., and has been blessed with the love and support of her remarkable children, Barbara and Charles Tinsley, Sharon and Farajo Elnamala, Charles Edward Beasley, Robert Lee and Darcell Beasley, Jr., Beverly and Bruce Rollins, the late Norvie Les Beasley, Sr., Carl Porter and Kim Beasley, and Roberta Ann Beasley; and

WHEREAS, she is the proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren, Ivy Green, Tasha Beasley, Ardena Woods, Norvie Beasley, Jr., Dorian Beasley Cotton, Shara Beasley, Evelyn Beasley, Tyrone Lewis Turnbow, Carl Richard Beasley, Corey Carrington Beasley, Jon Andrew Rollins, Carlton James Beasley, Keisha Walker, and Reco Mahammad; and 19 great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, the devotion, patience, and understanding she has demonstrated have provided the foundation and framework of success in which her family members have developed and flourished; and

WHEREAS, a woman of deep and abiding faith, Mrs. Beasley has been an active member of Mount Lebanon Primitive Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, for over 70 years, where she was one of the first to serve in the children's choir and adult choir and serve as mother; and
WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens and she possesses the vast wisdom which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved through overcoming the many challenges of life; and

WHEREAS, a community leader, Mrs. Beasley has diligently and conscientiously devoted her time, talents, and energy to the democratic process, serving as a poll worker for over 40 years; and

WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and, by the example she has made of her life, she makes this world a better place in which to live, and it is only fitting and proper that she be appropriately recognized during this very special and memorable time of her life.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Mrs. Ardena Beasley on the occasion of her 80th birthday and wish her many more years of happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Ardena Beasley.
