A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Dr. Babs Olusegun Onabanjo; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Dr. Babs Olusegun Onabanjo has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, he earned a dual bachelor's degree in computer information systems and management from Alabama State University, a Master of Business Administration from Auburn University with concentration in information systems, a master's degree in counseling and a master's degree in computer science, and a terminal degree in psychological counseling from Clark Atlanta University; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Onabanjo is the president and CEO of the A.D. King Foundation and native of Nigeria, West Africa; and

WHEREAS, an activist and filmmaker, he is involved with several organizations, including the Southern Christian Leadership Conference where he serves as vice president, and produced the historical civil rights documentary entitled "Behold the Dream: Brother to the Dreamer," a compelling story of the life and legacy of Reverend A.D. William King; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Onabanjo's significant organizational and leadership talents, his remarkable patience and diplomacy, his keen sense of vision, and his sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Dr. Babs Olusegun Onabanjo for his efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend to him their most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Dr. Babs Olusegun Onabanjo.
