RESOLUTION
Commending
student leaders of the Georgia Institute of Technology and recognizing January
12, 2011, as Georgia Institute of Technology Day at the state capitol; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Georgia Institute of Technology is a world-class university focused on
providing unmatched higher learning to over 20,000 undergraduate and graduate
students; and
WHEREAS,
these students are an integral part of the Institute's community, actively
observing and participating in all corners of the campus and providing
leadership at nearly every level; and
WHEREAS,
leaders of Georgia Tech demonstrate a sincere interest in improving the lives of
others on both local and global levels and work diligently in their classes,
through their organizations, and with the university to achieve their goals;
and
WHEREAS,
with the support of their professors and administrators, students of Georgia
Tech serve as advocates for the university and support the school's efforts to
achieve progress and serve the local community; and
WHEREAS,
the students and faculty of this fine institution are welcomed to the Gold Dome
on the second annual Georgia Institute of Technology Day at the state
capitol.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the student leaders from the Georgia Institute of Technology
for their commitment to promoting the goals of the university and recognize
January 12, 2011, as Georgia Institute of Technology Day at the state
capitol.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Georgia
Institute of Technology Student Government Association.
