A RESOLUTION


Honoring Hilary Larissa Pulos; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, on February 9, 2008, Hilary Larissa Pulos was crowned Miss Satilla's Outstanding Teen; and

WHEREAS, on June 28, 2008, she was crowned Miss Georgia's Outstanding Teen; and

WHEREAS, she represented the State of Georgia with distinction at Miss America's Outstanding Teen in Orlando, Florida, August 7-16, 2008; and

WHEREAS, she developed, organized, and fostered a peer-to-peer mentoring program called HOPE: Helping Our Peers Excel that has provided assistance to numerous teens with a myriad of needs; and

WHEREAS, she participates in outreach programs to help others; and

WHEREAS, she has served as chairperson of the Wayne County Student Chamber of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, she serves as a member of the Patterson Bank Junior Board of Directors; and

WHEREAS, she has excelled in academics, dance, drama, softball, cheerleading, and tennis; and

WHEREAS, she teaches dance and gymnastics to youths in the community and tutors students in need; and

WHEREAS, she has taken advantage of the most challenging and rigorous classes throughout her public education and currently has a grade point average of 100.5 in her senior year of high school, and she is ranked second in the Class of 2009 for Wayne County High School; and

WHEREAS, she is dual-enrolled with Waycross College in her senior year of high school, earning both high school credit and nearly completing the credits for her first year of college; and

WHEREAS, she is a member of the National Honor Society, National Society of High School Scholars, Who's Who Among American High School Students, National Beta Club, and Wayne County Scholar Athletes; and

WHEREAS, she epitomizes the ideals, leadership traits, and moral character we strive to build in all teens.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body join in honoring Hilary Larissa Pulos on her many accomplishments and extend their sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Hilary Larissa Pulos.
