A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Lisa Bobb, Andrew Hagenbush, Madeline Peake, and Wesley Starrett; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Lisa Bobb, Andrew Hagenbush, Madeline Peake, and Wesley Starrett are members of Georgia State University College of Law's Student Trial Lawyers Association; and

WHEREAS, these talented law students recently represented their school and the State of Georgia at the American Bar Association Student Division's National Arbitration Competition in Chicago, Illinois; and

WHEREAS, after several rounds of competition, the team emerged victorious with the national title; and

WHEREAS, through the competition, these students have garnered a greater knowledge of the law and understanding of the practice of arbitration; and

WHEREAS, these students have shown their ability to adapt from the field of trial law to arbitration and performed admirably in the multiple competitive rounds which simulated a realistic arbitration hearing; and

WHEREAS, the team artfully presented and negotiated an arbitration case involving the wrongful discharge of an employee; and

WHEREAS, these future lawyers have gained invaluable experience along their educational path towards becoming professional, competent, and ethical servants to the public; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding achievement and skillful performance of the members of this team be recognized appropriately.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Lisa Bobb, Andrew Hagenbush, Madeline Peake, and Wesley Starrett on their dedication and hard work in preparing for the American Bar Association Student Division's National Arbitration Competition and congratulate them on their national title winning performances.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit appropriate copies of this resolution to Lisa Bobb, Andrew Hagenbush, Madeline Peake, and Wesley Starrett.
