RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Forest Park High School; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
established in 1962, Forest Park High School is a very unique school nestled in
a close knit community in Forest Park, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Forest Park High School has a population of 1,566 students and consists of an
unquestionably diverse population of students; and
WHEREAS,
Forest Park High School's numerous accomplishments include the girls varsity
basketball team having competed in four consecutive state playoffs, making it to
the finals in 2011, with five of their players receiving full athletic
scholarships and several CTAE students having completed training and required
testing to become volunteer income tax preparers for the 2011 tax year;
and
WHEREAS,
high expectations for students from faculty, staff, and parents have helped the
dedicated students at Forest Park High School achieve their success;
and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the phenomenal work of this fine
educational institution be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Forest Park High School for outstanding dedication and
commitment to excellence in education.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Forest Park
High School Principal Derrick C. Manning.
