A RESOLUTION

Congratulating the Alexander High School wrestling team on winning the 2010 Class AAAA Traditional State Championship; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Alexander High School wrestling team demonstrated a feat of greatness to victoriously clinch the traditional state championship title; and

WHEREAS, on top of their Class AAAA Traditional State Championship title, the team's impressive season included titles such as Region 5-AAAA Dual Champions, Region 5-AAAA Traditional Champions, and Class AAAA Dual State Runner-up; and

WHEREAS, two Alexander wrestlers, Ethan Blackstock and Chad Starnes, captured individual state championships at the tournament; and

WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the team; and

WHEREAS, this incredible team of champions included stellar athletes Omar Ansari, Austin Barrett, Ethan Blackstock, Cody Dickerson, Marcus Hart, Alex Head, Joe Hinchman, Don Monette, Jamie Prescott, Deandre Sims, Chad Starnes, Berkley Stewart, Jamil Watkins, and Jason Wilde; and

WHEREAS, the coaching staff displayed astute direction, dedication, and determination, pushing these athletes to achieve mental and physical toughness, and included Head Coaches Sean Moistner and Daryk Cochran, Assistant Coach David Mathews, and Junior Varsity Coach David Huyhn; and

WHEREAS, this magnificent team performed with precision throughout the season and have come to earn their well-deserved reputation for high standards of athletic achievement, quality of play, and superior sportsmanship.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the Alexander High School wrestling team for its unparalleled achievements and congratulate the players and coaches on their state title.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit appropriate copies of this resolution to the players and coaches of the Alexander High School wrestling team.
