RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Atlanta's John Marshall Law School's negotiation team; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Atlanta's John Marshall Law School (AJMLS) negotiation team finished in third
place out of 228 teams in the nation and first place in Georgia in the American
Bar Association Negotiation Competition; and
WHEREAS,
through perseverance and iron determination the AJMLS negotiation team received
exceedingly high scores in the initial round and advanced into the semi-finals
round; and
WHEREAS,
the phenomenal performance of the negotiation team is a clear indication of the
outstanding scholastic ability, the dedication and hard work, the unity of
purpose and spirit of each member of the team, and the astute direction of Coach
Shaun Adams and Coach Charles Barry; and
WHEREAS,
Torrey Rainey and Christina Scott spent hours practicing mock negotiations
against other team members, researching the legal issues and strategizing
potential offers to use in the negotiation; and
WHEREAS,
the preparation of Torrey Rainey and Christina Scott allowed them to seamlessly
solve complex legal problems with flexibility, firmness, and an authentic
professionalism; and
WHEREAS,
other members of the team include Olutola "Joyce" Adelugba, Zach Pritchard,
Wellington Tzou, Michael Peterson, Eric von Hacke, and Nick Schnyder who
assisted with researching the legal background and issues; and
WHEREAS,
Atlanta's John Marshall Law School is known as a superb provider of legal
education as demonstrated by the leadership of Dean Richardson Lynn; and
WHEREAS,
as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by
performing with courage and precision over months of research and practice
negotiations, it is abundantly fitting and proper that they be appropriately
recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Atlanta's John Marshall Law School's negotiation team on their
success in the American Bar Association Negotiation Competition and extend their
sincerest best wishes for future success.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Atlanta's
John Marshall Law School's negotiation team.
