RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Representative Nikki Randall; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Representative Nikki Randall earned a bachelor's degree in business
administration, concentrating in marketing from Tennessee State University in
1995; and
WHEREAS,
in 1999, she became the first African American female to be elected from Middle
Georgia to the Georgia General Assembly in a special election to fill an
unexpired term vacated by her father after 25 years of service; and
WHEREAS,
she is the Secretary of the Minority Caucus and serves on the Judiciary
Non-Civil, Health and Human Services, and Rules committees; and
WHEREAS,
Representative Randall is a member of the Legislative Women's Caucus, Georgia
Legislative Black Caucus, Georgia's Win List, Mamie B. Reese Federated Women's
Club, the Junior League of Macon, Secretary of the Friends of the Douglass
Theater Board, Macon Tri-City Lions Club, Bibb County Democratic Women, Women's
Political Organization, Advisor of the Nubian Princess Girls Mentor Program, and
the Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority; and
WHEREAS,
she has served in many professional capacities, including Marketing and Public
Relations Director of Associated Enterprises, Assistant Human Resources Director
for the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, Employment Services Case Manager for Bibb
County DFACS, Lobbyist for the Georgia Nursing Home Association, Regional Field
Coordinator for the Barnes for Government Campaign, and Regional Director for
the Democratic Party of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
a woman of deep and abiding faith, Representative Randall is an active member of
the Community Church of God; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the many accomplishments of this
distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Representative Nikki Randall for her efficient, effective,
unselfish, and dedicated service to the State of Georgia and extend to her their
most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to
Representative Nikki Randall.
