RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Dr. Sherry Blake; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Dr. Sherry Blake has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the
vital role she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the
welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as
evidenced dramatically by her 20 years of superlative service in the medical
health field as a licensed clinical psychologist; and
WHEREAS,
she earned her Master of Science and Ph.D. degrees in clinical psychology from
Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee; and
WHEREAS,
she has worked with everyone from renowned award winning entertainers to top
athletes in the NFL, NBA, and the MLB; and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Blake has served on numerous boards, including the Odyssey Family Counseling
Center and the Clayton Mental Health Association; and
WHEREAS,
an active member in her community, Dr. Blake has served as President of the
Metropolitan Atlanta Mental Health Association; and
WHEREAS,
she owns and operates Touchstone Psychological Services, which provides services
to children, adolescents, and adults in the area of assessments, psychotherapy,
and education and prevention; and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Blake's significant organizational and leadership talents, her remarkable
patience and diplomacy, her keen sense of vision, and her sensitivity to the
needs of the citizens of this state have earned her the respect and admiration
of her colleagues and associates; and
WHEREAS,
she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Dr. Sherry Blake for 20 years of efficient, effective,
unselfish, and dedicated service to the mental health field and extend to her
their most sincere best wishes for future success.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Dr. Sherry
Blake.
