A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Sylvester and Patricia Barnett on the occasion of their 50th
wedding anniversary; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Sylvester and Patricia Barnett were united in love and marriage on March 17,
1960, and will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this year;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. and Mrs. Barnett's 50 year union and unyielding loyalty and devotion to one
another serve as an inspiration to their family, friends, and neighbors;
and
WHEREAS,
this amazing couple met while they were attending Maryland State in 1957 and
have been deeply in love with one another ever since; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Barnett served as a transit driver for the Baltimore City MTA and Mr.
Barnett was a longshoreman for the port of Baltimore; and
WHEREAS,
the Barnetts are the proud parents of two remarkable sons, Kevin and Aaron;
and
WHEREAS,
a couple with deep and abiding faith, the Barnetts are active members of
Ebenezer Baptist Church and the Lou Walker Center Choir; and
WHEREAS,
the devotion, patience, and understanding they have demonstrated have provided
the foundation and framework of success in which all of their family members
have developed and flourished; and
WHEREAS,
known for their generosity and kindness, the Barnetts have made the world a
better place in which to live, with many incredible contributions to their
family, community, and state; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the Barnetts be congratulated on their
many years of happiness and their magnificent 50 year commitment to each
other.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in congratulating Sylvester and Patricia Barnett on their 50th
wedding anniversary and extend their sincere best wishes for many more happy
years together.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. and Mrs.
Barnett.
