A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Ms. Martha Collins Lynch Moultrie on the occasion of her 100th birthday; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Ms. Martha Collins Lynch Moultrie was born on March 27, 1912, in Harris, Georgia, a beloved daughter of Mary Lou Collins Lynch and George Henry Lynch; and

WHEREAS, she was united in love and marriage on Valentine's Day in 1937 to the late John Edward Moultrie, and is blessed with four remarkable children, John Edward Moultrie, Jr., Robert Lynch Moultrie, Nancy Marcelle Moultrie Smith, and Martha Ann Moultrie Parks, eight wonderful grandchildren, and 14 adored great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, she was a member of several garden clubs due to her enjoyment of flowers and has always been a wonderful cook and homemaker; and

WHEREAS, the devotion, patience, and understanding Ms. Moultrie has demonstrated have provided the foundation and framework of success in which her family members have developed and flourished; and

WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Moultrie possesses the vast wisdom which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved through overcoming the many challenges of life; and

WHEREAS, a resident of Woodbury, Georgia, Ms. Moultrie is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and

WHEREAS, a kind and generous woman, Ms. Moultrie brings joy and happiness to her many friends, neighbors, and family members who have the great pleasure of knowing her; and

WHEREAS, by the example Ms. Moultrie has made of her life, she makes this world a better place in which to live, and it is only fitting and proper that she be appropriately recognized during this very special and memorable time of her life.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Ms. Martha Collins Lynch Moultrie for her unselfish, dedicated, and loving service to the members of her family and the citizens of her community and state, congratulate her on the remarkable occasion of her 100th birthday, and extend their most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Martha Collins Lynch Moultrie.
