A RESOLUTION

Commending Victor Hedgpeth, Peach County High School's 2012 STAR Teacher; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most important objective of the General Assembly; and

WHEREAS, Victor Hedgpeth has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that he has played in the teaching profession and his deep personal commitment to the education of the students of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, he graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1985 and served in the Air Force for 22 years before retiring and becoming a certified teacher; and

WHEREAS, he is united in love and marriage to his wife, Melissa, and together they have been blessed with three remarkable children, Will, Mary Kelly, and Amanda; and

WHEREAS, Victor Hedgpeth has earned distinction and numerous awards for teaching excellence as a result of his dedication to his students and his profession and has been honored as Peach County High School's 2012 STAR Teacher; and

WHEREAS, in recognition of his contributions to the education and welfare of young people in this state, it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the extraordinary accomplishments and academic achievements of this outstanding individual.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body heartily commend Victor Hedgpeth, Peach County High School's 2012 STAR Teacher, and express to him their most sincere best wishes for continued success in the future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Victor Hedgpeth.
