A RESOLUTION


Commending Mr. Michael L. Ray for his outstanding public service; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mr. Michael L. Ray has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, this dedicated public servant has diligently and conscientiously devoted numerous hours of his time, talents, and energy to improving the lives of his neighbors as a member of the Bloomingdale City Council; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Ray has devoted eight years of service to the City of Bloomingdale as a councilmember from 2002 to 2009 and as mayor pro tem for four years; and

WHEREAS, his significant organizational and leadership talents, his remarkable patience and diplomacy, and his sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Ray is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and

WHEREAS, although his presence as a public official for the City of Bloomingdale will be sorely missed upon his retirement, Mr. Ray's influence will be present for future generations of Bloomingdale residents; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting that this body express its appreciation to Mr. Ray for the great credit he reflects on his community and this state.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Mr. Michael L. Ray for his outstanding service to the City of Bloomingdale, recognize his many contributions to the Bloomingdale City Council, and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Michael L. Ray.
