A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Shari Dyon Perry; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Shari Dyon Perry was born on March 3, 1986, in Columbus, Georgia, a beloved daughter of Unetia and Vince Perry; and

WHEREAS, she gravitated towards singing and dancing at an early age; and

WHEREAS, following a standout performance in a regional theatre production, Shari was asked to audition for an Atlanta casting director; and

WHEREAS, she landed the role of Young Rene Jackson on the original Lifetime television series, Any Day Now, and relocated to California at the age of 12 for her three-year run in the critically acclaimed drama; and

WHEREAS, she was honored with an NAACP Image Award nomination, as well as Young Artist and Viewer's Voice Award wins; and

WHEREAS, she has starred in The Painting, Odd Girl Out, Let's Stay Together, and Joyful Noise; and

WHEREAS, Shari is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and she was recognized with the Kennedy Center Honors and is credited as a performer, singer, and choreographer on a variety of productions; and

WHEREAS, she consistently provides extraordinary entertainment as a performer on the stage and the State of Georgia is proud that this talented singer, dancer, and actress calls this state home.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Shari Dyon Perry on her remarkable accomplishments in the performing arts industry and recognize her exemplary talents.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Shari Dyon Perry.
