A RESOLUTION


Honoring the life and memory of Jettie Lee Whitmire Wiley; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens with the passing of Jettie Lee Whitmire Wiley on November 23, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Jettie Lee was born on July 6, 1928, in Forsyth County, Georgia, a beloved daughter of the late Ethel and Carl Whitmire; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Wiley was united in love and marriage to Bobby L. Wiley for 54 remarkable years and blessed with three adored children, Doug Wiley, Lee Wiley, and Debbie King, and eight amazing grandchildren, James, Elizabeth, and Catherine Wiley, Robert, William, and Jack Wiley, and Ben and Emma King; and

WHEREAS, a woman of deep and abiding faith, Mrs. Wiley was an active member of First Baptist Church of Gainesville; and

WHEREAS, she was known for her strong work ethic, high moral character, and compassion for others; and

WHEREAS, she gave inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding she demonstrated to her family and friends were admired by others; and

WHEREAS, she was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness and, by the example she made of her life, she made this world a better place in which to live; and

WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous woman, Jettie Lee Whitmire Wiley will long be remembered for her love of family and friendship, and this loyal wife, daughter, mother, and friend will be missed by all who had the great fortune of knowing her.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Jettie Lee Whitmire Wiley and express their deepest and most sincere regret at her passing.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Jettie Lee Whitmire Wiley.
