RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Little Miss Dacula 2011 Annie Stancel; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Annie Stancel has shown by the example of her academic accomplishments and
extracurricular involvement that the pursuit and attainment of excellence are
within the reach of the students in this state; and
WHEREAS,
a fourth grader at Mulberry Elementary School, Annie recently earned the
prestigious title of Little Miss Dacula 2011; and
WHEREAS,
Annie has been active at Mulberry Elementary School where she has volunteered at
Bingo Night and Breakfast with Santa; and
WHEREAS,
committed to uplifting the lives of others through service to her community,
Annie has been an active volunteer with the Gwinnett County Relay for Life,
Gwinnett County Special Olympics, Walk for Autism Speaks Now, Gwinnett Recycles,
Suwanee Music Festival, and Easter Seals Walk; and
WHEREAS,
by the end of her reign as Little Miss Dacula, Annie will have volunteered over
200 hours of community service and is in line to receive two gold medals from
the President's Council on Civic Service and Volunteerism; and
WHEREAS,
all Georgians are proud of young people who, like Annie, represent the very best
that this state has to offer; and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia looks forward with great anticipation to the promising and
bright future of this remarkable young citizen.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body congratulate Annie Stancel on being named Little Miss Dacula 2011 and
extend to her their best wishes for her near and distant future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Little Miss
Dacula 2011 Annie Stancel.
