RESOLUTION
Commending
Miss Erin Grizzle on winning the Miss United States Pageant; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Miss Erin Grizzle, the reigning Miss Georgia United States, earned the title of
Miss United States on July 16, 2009, at the Miss United States Pageant in Las
Vegas, Nevada; and
WHEREAS,
this achievement is the culmination of hard work and determination on the part
of Miss Grizzle, who deserves much credit for her energy, poise, grace, and
congeniality; and
WHEREAS,
a native of Ellijay, Georgia, Miss Grizzle represented the State of Georgia with
pride during her impressive showing at the 2009 Miss United States Pageant, a
competition which included an interview, on stage question, and swimsuit and
evening gown contest; and
WHEREAS,
Miss Grizzle holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia and a
master's degree in business administration from the Georgia Institute of
Technology; and
WHEREAS,
currently a resident of Atlanta, Georgia, Miss Grizzle is the daughter of Jackie
and Susan Grizzle of Ellijay and the granddaughter of Aline Tatum of
Dawsonville, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
during her reign as Miss United States, Miss Grizzle will promote her platform
of Youth Mentoring:
Empowering America's Future;
and
WHEREAS,
Miss Grizzle has served as a youth mentor for nine years and her accomplishments
stand as a shining example for all Georgians.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that members of this
body commend Miss Erin Grizzle on winning the 2009 Miss United States Pageant
and thank her for her many contributions to the State of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Miss Erin
Grizzle.
