RESOLUTION
Celebrating
Mrs. Irene Geurin's 100th birthday and inviting her to appear before the House
of Representatives; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Irene Geurin was born on January 12, 1910, in Cherokee County, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Geurin was blessed to grow up surrounded by a large family, including 11
brothers and sisters; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Geurin has lovingly raised three daughters of her own, Marilyn, Elizabeth,
and Mavis; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Geurin has worked diligently throughout her life to help provide for her
family, retiring from both EZ Mill and Goodyear in Cartersville, Georgia;
and
WHEREAS,
during her long retirement Mrs. Geurin has experienced the joy of watching her
family grow to include nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two
great-great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS,
because Mrs. Geurin has been a source of happiness and pride to so many around
her for a century it is fitting that her life is appropriately recognized and
honored.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body wish Mrs. Geurin a happy 100th birthday and invite her to appear
before the House of Representatives on a day and at a time designated by the
Speaker of the House of Representatives.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Irene
Geurin.
