A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending the 2011 Class of Leadership McDuffie; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, participants in the Leadership McDuffie program represent the exceptional young leaders of the county and the challenging educational program is designed to prepare them to be outstanding future leaders of Georgia and McDuffie County; and

WHEREAS, Leadership McDuffie recognizes demonstrated and potential leadership, where selection alone stands as a testament to the promising character of its gifted participants, who seize this opportunity to better themselves and, ultimately, their community; and

WHEREAS, participation in Leadership McDuffie requires a substantial investment of time and energy, but the participants are enriched by the relationships they form with each other, as well as by the knowledge and understanding they gain from experts on such topics as governmental organization, education, private enterprise, natural resources, finance, and rural and urban development; and

WHEREAS, by providing a rigorous and innovative program of training, Leadership McDuffie is building a stronger and better community by preparing tomorrow's leaders to meet the challenges of the 21st century; and

WHEREAS, the 2011 Leadership McDuffie Class includes Tonya Adams, John Ansley, Deanna Cochran, Bodie Cummings, Chris Dodgen, Judy Giles, Debra Griffin, David Harbeson, Tahsa Johnson, Donna Kerr, Reverend Rodney Lockett, Keith Milburn, Liz Moore, Julio Nickles, Andrew Pritchard, Eric Reisinger, Penny Salley, Justin Schuver, Neal Tam, Hope Thigpen, and Rose Vasquez; and

WHEREAS, participants in the Leadership McDuffie program have shown great commitment to their community and their futures through their dedicated work in mastering the art of good leadership.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body join in commending the participants of Leadership McDuffie for their exemplary performance and congratulate them each for being selected for this inestimable program.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to each of the above-named individuals.
