RESOLUTION
Honoring
the life of Briggs Arno Goggans; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Briggs Arno Goggans was born August 5, 1939, in Fort Payne, Alabama, and passed
away on January 2, 2011, in Cobb County, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Goggans was the son of the late Trummie and Grace Goggans and moved to
Georgia in his youth; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Goggans graduated from DeKalb High School and married his beloved Bette
Bright a year later, and the couple soon after moved to the Atlanta area, living
most of their lives in Smyrna and Cobb County; and
WHEREAS,
he was well respected and admired in the electrical industry wherein he worked
and established an outstanding reputation; and
WHEREAS,
he was a committed conservative and a lifelong Republican activist, admired for
his dedication and wisdom in political matters; and
WHEREAS,
all who were privileged to know Mr. Goggans will remember him best as a man
filled with kindness and good humor and love for his family.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body does
hereby honor the memory of Briggs Arno Goggans, an exemplary citizen whose life
reflected great credit on the State of Georgia.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House is authorized and directed to
transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Bette Goggans.
