RESOLUTION
Remembering
and honoring the life of Margaret Edenfield Lott and expressing regrets at her
passing; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the state of Georgia lost a beloved and wonderful citizen with the passing of
Margaret Edenfield Lott on May 13, 2008; and
WHEREAS,
Margaret Lott was born on April 27, 1922, in Stillmore, Georgia, the beloved
daughter of O.E. and Bonnie Youmans Edenfield; and
WHEREAS,
she was known as a loving homemaker in Waycross, Georgia, for most of her life;
and
WHEREAS,
her commitment to her community was demonstrated by her active service on many
civic organizations including the Salvation Army Board of Directors, Friends of
the Library Board of Directors, Junior Womens Club, and the Waycross Service
League and she also served as a Brownie and Girls Scout Leader; and
WHEREAS,
she was a faithful and active member of the First United Methodist Church where
she served as a circle leader, Sunday school teacher, devotional leader, and
President of the United Methodist Women; and
WHEREAS,
she was a devoted wife to her husband Jack H. Lott, and a loving mother,
grandmother, and great grandmother to her three children, Jack Edenfield, Bonnie
Lott Storey, and Kathie Tyre, grandchildren Marty Jones, Jamie Storey, John
Storey, Stacey David, Beth Neale, Laura Harris, Keri Lott, and John Lott, and
her great grandchildren, Katherine Jones, Emmeline Jones, Candler Jones,
Jamie-Marie Storey, Lucy David, Carley Neale, Margaret Anne Neale, Hayden Neale,
Coleman Neale; and
WHEREAS,
she had a love for life and brought joy and happiness to all those who came into
contact with her through her sweet and loving spirit; and
WHEREAS,
this remarkable lady was filled with much strength of character and grace, and
she will long be remembered in the hearts of those who loved her
dearly.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body remember and honor the life of Margaret Edenfield Lott and express
their deepest regrets on her passing with sincerest condolences to her
family.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House is authorized and directed to
transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Margaret
Edenfield Lott.
