RESOLUTION
Congratulating
the Crisp Academy girls basketball team on winning the GISA Class A State
Championship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
through perseverance and iron determination, the Crisp Academy girls basketball
team earned the top ranking in the state; and
WHEREAS,
with an impressive 21-7 season, the Lady Wildcats won the GISA Region 3-A title
and their state title victory brought home the school's first state title in
girls basketball since 1977; and
WHEREAS,
this all-star team included stellar athletes: Ashley Athon, Brittany Brewer,
Kayla Childers, Libby Collins, Kristen Greene, Hannah Helms, Madi Krause, Madi
Mitchell, Madison Odom, Molly Parker, Morgan Wells, Kara White, Kendall Wilson,
and Jay Jay Yawn; and
WHEREAS,
the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding
athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and
spirit of each member of the team; and
WHEREAS,
the team's spectacular season reflects the astute guidance and direction of
their talented coaches, Head Coach Gina Mitchell and Assistant Coaches Erin
Davis and Kami Faircloth; and
WHEREAS,
as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by
performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition,
it is abundantly proper to call them champions.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body congratulate the Crisp Academy girls basketball team for winning the
GISA Class A State Championship and extend to them best wishes on all their
future athletic endeavors.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Head Coach
Gina Mitchell.
