BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 40-2-86 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to special license plates promoting certain beneficial projects and supporting
certain worthy agencies, funds, or nonprofit corporations, so as to provide for
a special license plate to promote prostate cancer awareness and research; to
provide for related matters; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting
laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 40-2-86 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to special
license plates promoting certain beneficial projects and supporting certain
worthy agencies, funds, or nonprofit corporations, is amended by adding a new
paragraph to subsection (m) to read as follows:
"(10)
A special license plate to support prostate cancer related awareness and
research programs. The provisions of paragraph (1) of this subsection
notwithstanding, from the additional $35.00 special license plate fee or special
license plate renewal fee charged for the issuance and renewal of prostate
cancer license plates authorized under this paragraph, $13.00 shall be deposited
in the general fund and $22.00 shall be disbursed to the Georgia Prostate Cancer
Coalition to fund prostate cancer awareness, research, screening, and treatment
related programs."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective on July 1, 2012.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
