BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 35-3-153 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to the creation of the office of chief medical examiner, so as to require the
chief medical examiner to devote his or her full time to the duties and
responsibilities of the office of chief medical examiner; to provide for
applicability; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and
for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 35-3-153 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the
creation of the office of chief medical examiner, is amended by adding a new
subsection to read as follows:
"(e)
The chief medical examiner shall devote his or her full time and attention to
the duties and responsibilities of the office of chief medical examiner and
shall not accept private
employment."
SECTION
2.
The
provisions of this Act shall not be construed to impair any existing
contract.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
