BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act providing a new charter for the county-wide government of Columbus,
Georgia, approved April 5, 1993 (Ga. L. 1993, p. 4978), as amended, so as to
provide for certain meeting requirements for the Council of such county-wide
government; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for
other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act providing a new charter for the county-wide government of Columbus, Georgia,
approved April 5, 1993 (Ga. L. 1993, p. 4978), as amended, is amended by
revising paragraph (4) of Section 3-103 as follows:
"(4)
The Council shall hold at least two regular meetings per month. Special
meetings of the Council may be called by the mayor or by any six members of the
total membership of the Council upon no less than 12 hours' written notice to
each member served personally or left at the usual place of business or
residence of such member. Such notice of the special meeting may be waived in
writing either before or after the meeting. Special meetings may be held at any
time without notice upon attendance at such meeting of, or waiver of notice by,
all members of the Council."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
