BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 48-5-48.2 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to the freeport exemption, so as to change a definition regarding such
exemption; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for
other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 48-5-48.2 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the
freeport exemption, is amended by revising paragraph (2) of subsection (a) to
read as follows:
"(2)
'Finished goods' shall mean goods, wares, and merchandise of every character and
kind but shall not include unrecovered, unextracted, or unsevered natural
resources or raw materials or goods in the process of manufacture or production
or the stock in trade of a retailer."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its
becoming law without such approval.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
