BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Title 21 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to elections,
so as to revise, modernize, and correct errors or omissions in said title in
furtherance of the work of the Code Revision Commission; to provide for effect
in event of conflicts; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws;
and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Title
21 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to elections, is amended
in:
(1) Code Section 21-2-225, relating to confidentiality of original voter registration applications, limitations on registration data available for public inspection, and data made available by the Secretary of State, by replacing "of this state, agencies of other states and" with "of this state, to agencies of other states and" in subsection (b).
(2) Code Section 21-2-386, relating to safekeeping, certification, and validation of absentee ballots, rejection of ballot, delivery of ballots to manager, duties of managers, precinct returns, and notification of challenged elector, by replacing "electronic mail," with "e-mail," in paragraph (6) of subsection (a).
(3) Code Section 21-5-6, relating to the powers and duties of the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission, by replacing "the Georgia Administrative Procedure Act';" with "the 'Georgia Administrative Procedure Act';" at the end of subparagraph (b)(10)(B).
(4) Code Section 21-5-34, relating to campaign contribution disclosure reports, by replacing "provided, however," with "provided, however, that" in paragraph (1) of subsection (k).

SECTION
2.
In
the event of an irreconcilable conflict between a provision of this Act and a
provision of another Act enacted at the 2011 regular session of the General
Assembly, the provision of such other Act shall control over this Act to the
extent of the conflict.
SECTION
3.
This
Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its
becoming law without such approval.
SECTION
4.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
