DELAWARE STATE SENATE

148th GENERAL ASSEMBLY

SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 60

CONGRATULATING ROBERT E. CLARK II ON BEING INAUGURATED AS THE 17TH PRESIDENT OF WESLEY COLLEGE.

WHEREAS, Robert E. Clark II became the 17th President of Wesley College on July 15, 2015 after 32 years of distinguished service in the United States Navy's Submarine Force; and

WHEREAS, President Clark served in some of the most challenging and highest visibility positions in the Submarine Force, including Commodore of Submarine Squadron FOUR, Commanding Officer of the nuclear powered submarine USS CONNECTICUT (SSN 22), and Executive Assistant to the Vice Chief of Naval Operations; and

WHEREAS, President Clark was considered a strategic visionary, expert tactician, and one of the most motivational leaders in the Submarine Force, and his commands consistently led the way in retention, operational readiness, war fighting, and innovation; and

WHEREAS, President Clark served as the 84^th Commandant of Midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy from April 2010 until May 2013, becoming the longest standing Commandant in the Naval Academy's history; and

WHEREAS, most recently, he served as the Joint Service Coordinator at the Pennsylvania State University, coordinating between all of the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs and the university; and

WHEREAS, President Clark fosters an environment of education, empowerment, inspiration, and accountability, knowing full well that excellence stems from collaboration and teamwork; and

WHEREAS, the inauguration of President Clark was held on March 23, 2016.

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the 148^th General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the House concurring therein, that we hereby congratulate and commend Robert E. Clark on becoming the 17^th President of Wesley College.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitably prepared copy of this Resolution be presented to Robert E. Clark II.

SYNOPSIS

This resolution congratulates Robert E. Clark II on being inaugurated as the 17^th President of Wesley College.
